POLICIES, GOVERNANCE AND WELFARE
HKCR have developed a wide range of policies to support and guide players, coaches and administrators at all levels of the game in Hong Kong, all aimed towards providing an environment that nurtures both physical and mental wellbeing.

KEEP RUGBY A GAME FOR ALL
- Parents and supporters are required to stand well clear of the pitch
- Let the coaches coach, the players play, and the refs officiate the game
- Live rugby values: integrity, respect, inclusiveness, and excellence
- Remember, if the ref is wearing green socks, they’re under 18
- Let kids be kids. Save it for the World Cup!

GAME SUPPORT ROLES
Rugby would not be possible without the tireless dedication of coaches, referees, administrators and volunteers. HKCR are proud of our rugby community, with many involved in these roles doing so as a way to give back to the sport. Find out how to get involved here!

COMPETITIONS, SCHEDULES AND RESULTS
Hong Kong’s rugby calendar is packed with men’s and women’s domestic leagues, mini and youth festivals and competitions, a thriving touch game, and of course Hong Kong China’s representative teams in both 15s and 7s rugby.

NEW YEAR'S DAY TOURNAMENT
The New Year’s Day Youth Tournament has been a major date on the local rugby calendar for over five decades. Many young stars of previous tournaments have gone on to proudly pull on the Hong Kong China jersey, with some alumni also representing other unions at international level.

LIVING OVERSEAS AND ELIGIBLE TO PLAY FOR HONG KONG CHINA?
It's not just players that live in Hong Kong who can play rugby for the Hong Kong China age grade and senior representative teams. If you, your parents or your grandparents were born in Hong Kong, or you have played rugby or lived in Hong Kong for a certain period of time, then this could be your route to playing international rugby.
