HONG KONG CHINA RUGBY PAIRS WITH KELLETT OUTREACH TO BUILD COMMUNITY SPIRIT

PUBLISHED ON 12 FEB 2026
Hong Kong China Rugby is delighted to confirm a partnership with Kellett Outreach, providing fun Saturday academic and enrichment sessions for around 140 children living below the poverty line in Hong Kong.
Outreach comprises of sessions in core subjects such as English and Mathematics, complemented by arts and sporting activities, delivered by Kellett School staff and partner organisations, with the support of student volunteers.
All children attending Outreach are provided with breakfast and lunch, transport to and from school, as well as a uniform, and educational resources.
Every Saturday, members of the Hong Kong China Rugby representative teams attend a rugby session, running exciting games and engaging with the students.

The partnership was initiated by two well-known figures in the rugby community, Jamie Hood and Sam Spencer, who teach at Kellett International school and are actively involved in Outreach. Spencer is passionate about the project, noting “Rugby has a unique way of bringing people together. It celebrates different cultures and backgrounds, and it often bridges the gap between generations. It’s more than a sport, it’s a shared space where we connect, swap stories, and grow through a common passion.”
“That’s why role models matter. The way we train, compete, and support each other can give a young player the confidence to take their first steps, but can also remind experienced players why they fell in love with the game in the first place.”
“Thank you to Hong Kong China Rugby for working with us at Kellett Outreach to offer your players the opportunity to be the role models for this next generation. Our first session was truly incredible and we look forward to welcoming more of your players in the coming weeks.”
HKCR is proud to support this initiative and look forward to sharing more about the programme over the coming months.
