MINI CLUB/SECTION ACCREDITATION CRITERIA

WHAT IS THE HKCR CLUB ACCREDITATION SCHEME?
The scheme certifies that a club has met the established standards set out for an accredited club. To attain accreditation all criteria shown below must be achieved.
MANDATORY CRITERIA
Player Welfare
- Appoint a Player Welfare Officer, who will be the club’s point of contact regarding player welfare matters. This person MUST attend the annual HKCR Player Welfare workshop.
- Appoint two Safeguarding Officers (preferably one male and one female) that will take responsibility for the clubs safeguarding policies and procedures. These two people MUST attend the annual HKCR Player Welfare workshop.
- Provide a qualified first aider for each game. It is the responsibility of the club to ensure that the qualifications of the first aider are current.
Coaching
- Provide each team with at least one WR Level 1 qualified coach.
Management & Governance
- Inform HKCR of all elected Directors and General Committee members.
- Ensure all players are registered with HKCR via GameDay.
Teams
- Enter at least one team (not including a combined team) in any of the HKCR Youth leagues or tournaments at either U13, U14, U16 or U18.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The following recommendations are seen as best practice, and although not a requirement for accreditation, clubs are encouraged to consider working towards achieving these.
Player Welfare
- Provide a qualified first aider for each training. It is the responsibility of the club to ensure that the qualifications of the first aider are current.
Pathways
- Either have a youth section within the club or have a formal agreement with another youth club. The agreement must outline a plan that aims to successfully transition players from one club to the other.
- Appoint a Transition Co-ordinator, who is responsible for the strategic transition of players from Youth and Tertiary into Senior rugby.
Management & Governance
- Have at least one female serving on the club Board and General Committee (preferably separate individuals).
