DRAGONS SQUADS ANNOUNCED FOR UPCOMING SINGAPORE TOUR

發佈於 [日期]

Hong Kong China Rugby today announced the Men's and Women's Dragons squads for their upcoming tour to Singapore, where they will take on a Singapore Select XV side.

The matches will take place at MOE (Evans) Stadium in Singapore on Saturday 20 June 2026, with the women's match kicking off at 4:00 PM and the men's match at 6:00 PM. There is no time difference between Hong Kong and Singapore.

This tour marks the second consecutive year that the Men's Dragons have travelled to Singapore for a training tour and invitational fixture, while it represents the first overseas tour for the Women's Dragons programme.

Both Dragons squads previously featured in exhibition curtain-raiser matches ahead of the Hong Kong China Men's Test Match against Japan XV at Kai Tak Stadium last October. The Singapore fixtures represent another important step in assessing player development and providing valuable experience at representative level.

WOMEN’S DRAGONS

The tour represents a significant milestone for the Women's Dragons programme, giving players the opportunity to experience an international touring environment while testing themselves against quality opposition. Royce Chan, Head Coach of the Women's Dragons, said "For many players on the team, this will be their first exposure to an overseas playing environment, which is an important part of their development. The match will allow us to assess where our players’ currently stand and identify areas for further growth. More importantly, it gives them the chance to demonstrate that they are capable of progressing into future Hong Kong China representative squads."

MEN’S DRAGONS

The Men's Dragons return to Singapore following last year's tour, where they faced the Singapore Development Team in a competitive encounter. Programme Lead and Hong Kong China Men's Sevens record cap holder and double Asian Games gold medallist Salom Yiu Kam Shing believes the programme continues to play a crucial role in strengthening the local player pathway.

"The Dragons Programme is an important bridge between club rugby and representative rugby," said Yiu. "Many of these players have the ambition and potential to play at a higher level. Through the programme, we can provide a structured environment, high performance coaching, and meaningful match opportunities to help them continue their development."

"I'm excited to see both teams in Singapore and hope they embrace the opportunity, enjoy the experience, and continue pushing themselves to improve."

The Singapore tour marks the first phase of the Dragons Programme's annual development cycle. Upon their return, the development pathway will continue with a domestic women’s rugby showcase match between the Women’s Dragons and the U23 Women's 15s at the Hong Kong Football Club on Saturday 4 July.

Following this, the squads will embark on a cultural and athletic exchange programme to Shandong later in July. This upcoming tour is proudly supported by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau (HYAB), reflecting a shared commitment to youth development and sports exchange.
