When injuries occur at sports events, it is crucial that medical teams are well-prepared and well-trained for such incidents.
In order to raise the standard of pitch side medical care in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine (HKCEM) and Hong Kong China Rugby (HKCR) have been jointly organising PHICIS courses in Hong Kong, the first in Asia, since 2010.
– Prerequisites: Must be a health care professional; doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, sports therapist, paramedic. Prior knowledge of BLS, ACLS, ATLS or PHTLS is advisable
– Course Dates: 2-full-day course

Completion of online modules prior to practical sessions, full attendance for both classroom days and competency in both written and practical assessments is required to obtain certification:
Validity: 2 years
Certification: Pre-Hospital Immediate Care in Sport
Accreditation: HKCR, England Rugby, Asia Rugby, World Rugby
