The captains of the six international unions competing in the World Rugby WXV Global Series Challenger Hong Kong 2026 gathered on the city’s majestic Victoria Harbour before their teams chart course for Rugby World Cup 2029 over the coming month in the city.

The Hong Kong China women’s representative XV squad members taking part in the upcoming World Rugby WXV Challenger 2026 Hong Kong were announced today in front of over 1,000 mini and youth players and supporters before the team’s public training session and warm-up match against Samoa.

This month, 138 of the world’s leading rugby athletes are streaming to Hong Kong from five countries on four continents for a celebration of elite women’s sport in the inaugural World Rugby WXV Challenger 2026.

Hong Kong will play host for the WXV Global Series Challenger 2026 from 13 September to 26 September 2026, with the tournament’s nine matches to be played as three triple-header matchdays all to be held at the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground. The announcement comes on the morning of the final day of a spectacular 50th Anniversary edition of the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, giving fans more top-level representative rugby to look forward to in the city later this year.
